Projects:

  1. [01/05/2024 – Current]
Prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome among Bangladeshi Adolescents
Prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome among Bangladeshi Adolescents The study focused on a representative sample of an apparently healthy adolescents to find the prevalence of MetS in adolescents attending school between 10 and 18 years of age.

  2. [04/09/2023 – Current]
TRANSFORM II Randomized Controlled Trial (Sirolimus-coated Balloon Versus Drug-eluting Stent in Native Coronary Vessels) setting in motion a crucial trial in the Native Coronary Vessel Treatment domain
The TRANSFORM II trial is a multicenter, international study comparing Magic Touch Sirolimus drug-coated balloons to everolimus-eluting stents in coronary artery disease patients, aiming to evaluate non-inferiority for target lesion failure and superiority for adverse clinical events over one year, with a five-year follow-up. It seeks to revolutionize angioplasty by challenging the current standard technique.

  3. [01/01/2022 – 31/12/2022]
Effect of Intravenous Iron on Functional Capacity in Patients with Ischemic Cardiomyopathy
A randomized, open-label study evaluated the effect of intravenous ferric carboxymaltose (FCM) on functional capacity in heart failure patients with reduced ejection fraction and iron deficiency. Over 12 weeks, patients receiving IV iron with standard therapy showed significant improvements in walk distance, ejection fraction, and NT-proBNP levels compared to those on standard therapy alone.

  4. [01/08/2021 – 30/08/2022]
Short term and Long-Term Outcomes Among Covid-19 Survivors: A Multi-Center Prospective Observational Study
This multi-center prospective observational study evaluates the short- and long-term outcomes of COVID-19 survivors, focusing on clinical, serological, and epidemiological characteristics. It highlights prolonged effects in survivors, especially those with comorbidities or severe cases, and aims to enhance understanding of the disease’s progression and impact.

  5. [ 01/01/2022 – 28/02/2023]
Effect of Trimetazidine on Functional Capacity in Patient with Ischaemic Cardiomyopathy (TOFCAPI)
This prospective observational study in Dhaka, Bangladesh, evaluated the effects of modified-release trimetazidine on exercise capacity and left ventricular function in 200 patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy (LVEF < 35%). Over a year, patients receiving trimetazidine alongside standard therapy showed significant improvements compared to those on standard therapy alone, with follow-ups at 1 and 6 months.
